Passion, devotion, conviction despite all the odds, farming is more of a vocation than a profession. Shouldering generations' worth of legacy, the baton of feeding the nation passes from parent to child in a relay of responsibility and expectation. In this film created for the Swansea RDP, Welsh farmers share their experiences of this unique way of life, and open up on the mental health crisis sweeping their community amidst impossible pressures.

This project is a collaboration with photographer Callum Baker. Over the summer of 2022 we visited farms in the Swansea and Gower area to learn about their lives and document their stories. The films, photos and oral histories opened in Scurlage with a private view for everyone involved, followed by a second rural exhibition in Gorseinon and a 3 month run in Swansea Museum.
